Kids Table Groups
We believe that the Temple + Table vision applies to all age groups, and that effective, long-lasting discipleship begins at a young age. There is no junior Holy Spirit, so we value high quality lessons for children, at a pace they can easily grasp so they can deepen their relationship with Jesus in homes, throughout the week.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Kids Table Groups are designed to run alongside adult Table Groups. If your adult group includes children, you’re already on your way. Each Kids Table Group requires a dedicated leader, and new groups should contact Hanna Lee to be equipped with materials and next steps.
-
There is no set limit on the number of children in a Kids Table Group. Rather than a specific number, we encourage hosts to ensure there is an appropriate balance of adults to kids so that each child is well cared for and supported.
-
Children 3-11 can attend a table group. Children 2 and under should plan on being with parents during the lesson, and middle schoolers should plan on sitting in the main lesson or attending a student-specific table group.
-
The kids lesson takes place in the same home as the adult lesson, just in a separate room. All kids table group leaders are required to have a background check and to be certified in NLC Kids safety policies. You are also more than welcome to sit in on a lesson if you have any questions.
-
Yes. Children may attend without a parent or guardian present, provided they are accompanied by a designated adult sponsor. The sponsor should be responsible for the child during the group and have access to the parent’s contact information in the event of an emergency.
-
Our Kids Table Group lessons are designed to parallel what kids are learning in NLC Kids on Sunday mornings, and follow the same curriculum. Each month, children explore a new series centered on key biblical themes. Kids will worship alongside the group and then engage in a game, a Bible-based lesson, and an interactive activity to reinforce what they’re learning.
-
Kids Table Groups follow the same meeting schedule as the adult Table Group they’re connected to. This means kids meet whenever their host home’s Table Group meets.
