What Does this Teach Us About God?
God is like a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one, and heaven rejoices over a single sinner who repents — He pursues us, He doesn't just wait.
What Does this Teach Us About People?
People matter to God individually. The religious leaders grumbled that Jesus welcomed sinners, but Jesus shows that the lost are worth going after.
Main Point:
Jesus doesn't wait for people to find their way back — He seeks them and goes after them.

What does the shepherd do when he finds the sheep? Is the sheep lost because of something it did?
